Kid Cooking Tips

Bag it for School Lunches.

Tired of finding half eaten sandwiches leftover at pick-up time. I say, "Bag it." You got it. Rather than resenting all the work you do to send the kids off to school with a well balanced meal, teach them to fend for themselves and you might find they have a greater appreciation for every morsel. I'm not suggesting you should open up the junk drawer and let them have at it, but if you shop correctly, provide some back-up and give them some basic rules, many school aged kids can handle the task.

The rules are simple:
1. At least one fruit, veggie and protein per bag.
2. All grains should be whole grains.
3. Limit drink to water or milk.
