Age with Taste.

Good habits start young, but it's never too late to introduce enjoyment into anyone's life. Whether you're feeding a family of four or a solo senior, great taste matters! So does sitting down for an enjoyable meal with family. So make it happen. Rather than reaching for junk food between meals, pick up the phone and get the grandparents over for some grub. And don't assume that your seasonings are too exotic. It's a proven fact that the sensitivity of our taste buds decrease with age, so spice it up!

The research articles confirmed most of the info that we've been talking about here for years. Ultra low fat dieting isn't going to get you any brownie points. Take this Provencial Fish Pistou for example. Using foods like prepared pesto and sliced California Ripe Olives, it's loaded with flavor and the work is practically done for you. Just like Grandma used to make? Not exactly, unless of course, she was extremely ahead of her time!

Provencial Fish Pistou

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 4 (6 oz.) boneless, skinless halibut fillets
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 (4.25 oz.) can sliced California Ripe Olives
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared pesto

Heat oil in a large high sided sauté pan over high heat. Season halibut with salt and pepper to taste and place in pan. Turn heat down to medium high and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden. Flip fish over and cook for 2-3 more minutes.

Stir tomatoes, California Ripe Olives and pesto into pan. Cover and cook over a low simmer for 3-5 minutes until heated through and sauce is slightly thickened. Serve fish topped with sauce. Serves 4.
